Director, Financial Crimes Compliance Governance and Oversight

We're seeking a future team member for the role of Director of Governance and Oversight to join our Global Financial Crimes Compliance (FCC) Governance and Oversight team. This role is located in New York, New York - HYBRID.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Assist in the development of regulatory and internal audit responses/materials and participate in internal audit and regulatory exams.
  • Assist Head of FCC Training in managing FCC-related training content, and tracking of training for FCC employees.
  • Participate in global governance forum/committees, prepare and review materials submitted by Lines of Business / Corporate Functions, and perform follow-up with key stakeholders, as needed.
  • Support FCC with oversight of metrics across FCC functions, ensuring data provided allows for transparency of actionable issues and overall program health.
  • Oversee the ongoing maintenance of FCC owned policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring holistic FCC issue oversight to track remediation plans and monitor deadlines with relevant issue owner(s).
  • Support Global Head of FCC Governance and Oversight with Responsible for strategic planning to ensure alignment to company goals with FCC end-to-end strategy

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher accreditation
  • 12+ years of compliance experience; however, governance/oversight-specific experience is preferred but not required.
  • Working knowledge and experience dealing with and managing regulatory exams and internal audits.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, written, and presentation skills.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $125,000 and $205,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
