Julie Romeis Sanders is a freelance editor specializing in books for children and teens. She works closely with authors, illustrators, agents, and publishers on a variety of editing and consulting projects. Julie began her career at Bloomsbury Children’s Books, where she discovered authors such as Printz Honoree Rick Yancey and Aaron Reynolds, author of a Caldecott Honor.
In 2007 she joined Chronicle Books to grow their fledgling fiction program and to develop striking picture books such as Caldecott Honoree Flora and the Flamingo. Julie has spent years guiding future editors at the Columbia Publishing Course and speaking at writers’ conferences around the world. She also stays tapped in to what kids are reading now as a part-time bookseller at Books Inc.
